Adamu Bass Preamp/Distortion
The Adamu is an awesome bass preamp and distortion by J. Michael Pedals. It is based on the DOD™ 250 ('77 Grey) Guitar Distortion, but tuned for bass.

This is the Adamu Bass Preamp or Distortion. Use the project documents provided, starting with the General Build Instructions. Make sure the polarized capacitors are installed correctly according to the layout/wiring diagram. Note that there are several blank spaces for components since this is a “Multi-Use” PCB. That is okay, just follow the layout/wiring diagram and the photo below. There are three jumpers that are built in to the top layer of the PCB. They are sort of violet color on the layout/wiring diagrams. If you are using one of our PCB, you do not need to install jumpers there. Here's an inside view of the unit we built to give you some general ideas if needed.
Comments and questions are welcome and can be sent to [email protected] Here is a chart of voltages taken at the transistor and IC pins. This information can be used to help find and fix problems if your Adamu doesn't work when you test it.

Ready to build? We have the kit.
Buy an Adamu Complete Kit. Includes all the parts and materials you need to build one, all for about the price you would pay for a PCB and parts.
Would you like a Ready to Solder Circuit Board for this project? Note: If you buy the kit, the Ready-to-Solder Printed Circuit Board (RTS PCB) is included in the kit. You do not need to purchase this Ready to Solder Circuit Printed Board if you buy the kit.
